Fiber optic connectors cast a common flaw

(1) cracked fiber

Optical fiber local or all of the depth of the fracture, the fracture is neat and smooth, the end of the instrument display as a big black block.

cause: 

A: inserts on the head of the protective glue is too large, too thick or too small, grinding off the whole block, the fiber local stress is too large, leading to brittle fracture.

B: grinding machine speed too fast or grinding process is not smooth, fiber stress is too large and uneven, resulting in split fiber.

(2) black spots, white spots

Black spots and white spots are pits, black spots are deep pits, white spots are shallow pits.

cause: 

A: D1 grinding paper cutting force is not enough, or on a too rough, so that can not be repaired;

B: D1 or polishing film with large particles of impurities, resulting in fiber damage, the emergence of pits;

C: D1 or polishing film coating off, mixed in the ferrule and grinding between the fiber due to local stress is too large, there pits;

D: grinding machine running is not smooth, or grinding process mixed with impurities, resulting in fiber due to local stress is too large, there pit.

(3) black border

Fiber and ceramic connections appear darker black ring, in essence, is the edge of the fiber and epoxy rubber broken deep, should reflect the difference, black.

A: D1 grinding force is too large, leading to fiber edge and epoxy glue crack, polishing can not be repaired;

B: D1 grinding powder powder off serious, resulting in rolling grinding, leading to the edge of the fiber and epoxy adhesive crack, polishing can not be repaired;

C: D1 grinding force is too weak, the edge of the ground caused by grinding the edge of the pit can not be completely repaired, polishing can not be repaired;

D: Grinder speed too fast, or the pressure is too large.

(4) charred

The end of the ferrule is coated with a thicker layer of material (debris and glue mixture), basically do not see the fiber.

A: The grinding pressure is high, the rubber mat is high in hardness, the abrasive is under the grinding pressure, the abrasive of the coating surface is greatly reduced and the cutting force is seriously decreased.

B: the coating softening point is low, under the action of the adhesive force sticky adhesive, the coating surface sticky a lot of debris, and ultimately transferred to the end of the ferrule, causing the phenomenon of charred.

(5) scratches

Teeth face appears black straight or white line, black straight line for the deep scratch, white line for the shallow scratches.

A: There are impurities in the grinding film and other large particles, or grinding surface is not smooth, resulting in local fiber force, cutting depth caused by scratches;

B: grinding pressure is small, grinding machine running is not smooth, resulting in local stress is too large, cutting depth caused by scratches;

C: grinding film there is the phenomenon of cutting edge, the surface is very hard and not smooth, resulting in local stress is too large, cutting depth caused by scratches;

D: polishing film caused by abnormal, polished particles in the silica particles agglomeration, or polishing film without cutting force.
