The Difference Between Fiber Cold Welding And Welding

Hot Welding Connection:

It needs to use fusion splicer machine, fiber cutter to fuse the two fibers together, without other auxiliary materials. The advantage is that the quality is stable, and the connection loss is small (about 0.03dB to 0.05dB). The disadvantage is that the equipment cost is too high and the equipment has limited power storage capacity. . Fieldwork is under restrictions.

Cold Connection:

Do not need too much equipment, only fiber cutter is enough. But each contact needs a fast connector (can be said to be the mainstream operation of the future). About 5 to 10 RMB. The advantage is easy to operate, suitable for field operations. Disadvantage is losses are relatively large. About 0.1 to 0.2 dB per point. For Cold connector, there are very few manufacturers that can directly produce in China, and the cost is high. There is no room for choice in business and technical services. Followed by the use of matching liquid in the cold connector, due to the less use and shorter time, aging problem takes time to test.
