G652 Fiber

 

G.652D is the type of optical fiber in the optical cable, which represents non-dispersion-shifted single-mode fiber, and is currently the most widely used single-mode fiber in China. Started commercial use in 1983, its zero dispersion wavelength is at 1310nm, and the attenuation is the smallest at the wavelength of 1550nm, but there is a large positive dispersion, about 18ps (nm/km), and the operating wavelength can be selected from 1310nm and 1550nm. . This fiber is the most widely used fiber.

 

G652 Fiber

Recommendation G.652 is the first version V1.0 (10/1984) created by ITU-T Group 15 (1981-1984 study period). Later, after four revisions in 1988, 1993, 1997, and 2000, the V5.0 version was formed. In the V5.0 version, the basic types of G.652 fiber are subdivided into two types, G.652A and G.652B. . At the ITU-T15 group meeting held in Geneva in 2003 [V6.0 (03/2003)], two types of G.652C and G.652D were added, and the upper limit of the L band was defined as 1625nm. In 2005, some parameters were further revised to form the V7.0 (05/2005) version. The main revisions this time include: reduced MFD tolerance, reduced maximum dispersion slope, concentricity error, cladding out-of-roundness, microbending loss, and added support for coarse wavelength division multiplexing optical interface G.695.

 

According to the different performance indexes of optical fiber, G.652 can be divided into four specifications, each with different performance, as follows:

1.G.652.A supports 1Gbit/s system transmission distance up to 400km, 10Gbit/s Ethernet transmission distance up to 40km, and 40Gbit/s system distance up to 2km.

2.G.652.B type optical fiber, support 10Gbit/s system transmission distance up to 3000km, 40Gbit/s system transmission distance is 80km.

3. G.652.C type fiber, the basic properties are the same as G.652A, but the attenuation coefficient at 1550nm is lower, and the water absorption peak around 1380nm is eliminated, that is, the system can work in the band of 1360~1530nm.

4. The properties of G.652D fiber are basically the same as G.652B fiber, and the attenuation coefficient is the same as G.652C fiber, that is, the system can work in the band of 1360~1530nm.

G.652.D is the most stringent indicator of all G.652 levels and is fully backward compatible.
