Components of CWDM system
The CWDM system is mainly composed of near-end components, CWDM Mux & Demux modules and remote components.
Near-end components and remote components refer to switches in different locations.
In addition, there are rack-mounted chassis for fixed support of CWDM Mux & Demux modules, CWDM SFP optical modules and single-mode fiber jumpers used to connect switches and CWDM Mux & Demux modules (as shown below).

CWDM system assembly steps:
1. Install the rack cabinet
The CWDM rack-mount chassis should be installed in a standard 1RU cabinet or rack. The CWDM rack-mount chassis is best installed in the cabinet or rack where the switch is located or adjacent to it.
2. Install CWDM Mux& Demux
3. Connection of CWDM Mux& Demux to switch
Note that because the wavelength of each port on the CWDM Mux & Demux is different, each port should be connected to the CWDM SFP optical module of the corresponding working wavelength, so that the optical signal can be transmitted normally.
4. Connection of two CWDM Mux & Demux
It should be noted here that if the CWDM multiplexer & demultiplexer is duplex, you need to use duplex SM jumpers, if the CWDM Mux & Demux is simplex, use simplex single-mode jumpers Just line.
Conclusion
The CWDM system is an economical and effective optical fiber communication solution. With the CWDM system, operators can expand the capacity of the optical fiber network on the basis of the existing optical fiber network architecture and maximize the use of optical fiber bandwidth.
