Canadian telecom giants Bell and Telus announced on June 2 that they have selected European telecommunications equipment vendors as 5G network equipment partners.

  At this point, Rogers, Bell and Research, which are regarded as the "big three" of Canada Telecom, have clearly stated that they will cooperate with European suppliers in the construction of 5G networks.


   Montreal-based Bell Corporation of Canada announced that Ericsson will provide wireless access network equipment for Bell's national 5G network. Bell's President and CEO Mirko Bibic said that with the support of Ericsson and other 5G partners, Bell hopes to maintain Canada's leading position in next-generation mobile communications. The company's press release stated that, as with previous wireless and wired network deployments, Bell is working with multiple equipment suppliers in its 5G construction.


  Bell announced in February this year when it announced the fourth quarter of 2019 results, and signed the first 5G network equipment supplier agreement with Nokia.


  Vancouver-based research company announced that it has selected Ericsson and Nokia as equipment partners for 5G network construction. The company has planned to invest another 40 billion Canadian dollars in key technology components in the next three years to promote the construction of 5G networks.


Doug French, the chief financial officer of   , once revealed to the media in February that the company will use Huawei equipment in the construction of 5G networks.


  Bell and Research have not disclosed the details of cooperation with European telecommunications equipment suppliers.


   In mid-January of this year, Toronto-based Rogers Corporation, another Canadian telecommunications giant, announced that it had begun to deploy 5G networks in many large cities in Canada, saying that its preferred equipment supplier was Ericsson.
