According to recent insights from news in stock market updates, CIG(Cambridge Industries Group) stated during investor surveys that the North American optical module market in the coming years can be basically divided into two parts: one part consists of traditional data center demands, and the other pertains to new requirements emerging due to the rise of AI(Aritificial Intelligence). The new demand for AI is expected to exceed the demand for traditional data centers by 2024 to 2025.
Looking at the domestic optical module market, the curent demand for 400G and 800G has not seen a significant increase. On one hand, the demand from traditional data centers remains relatively stable, with no particularly obivious growth. On the other hand, the demand in the telecommunications sector still follows a slow and steady development trend, lacking significant ups and downs.
Therefore, the anticipated growth of 400G and 800G in 2024 will come more from an increase in demand driven by supercomputing.
