Digital Realty acquires Brazilian data center company Ascenty for $1.8 billion
Recently, Digital Realty Trust is acquiring Ascenty, which provides Internet data centers in some of Brazil's largest hyperscale cloud platforms.The $1.8 billion deal is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter.
Ascenty currently offers approximately 40 MW of data center capacity in eight data centers, 34 MW is under construction, and there is plenty of room to build an additional 33 MW. Its data centers are located in São Paulo, Campinas, Rio de Janeiro and Fortaleza.
These will be Digital's first assets in Latin America. So far, the developer's footprint includes data centers in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.
