Mali's 817km Fiber Optic Network Project Won A Loan From China Import and Export Bank


The Government of Mali and the Export-Import Bank of China have signed a loan agreement to implement the “Mali Numerique 2020” fiber optic network project.

As part of the project, Mali will deploy an 817 km fiber optic network, including the 420 km Mopti-Gao path, the 199 km Mopti-Koro-Bi path (which borders Burkina Faso) and the 198 km Gao-Labazenga path. (on the border with Niger) and a 100-kilometer fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network.

The project, valued at $162 million, will be implemented by China International Telecommunications Construction Corporation (CITCC) and is expected to be completed within two years.
