Orange and Ericsson Sign New Hosting Services Cooperation Agreement in 5 European Countries
According to foreign media reports, Orange has again selected Ericsson as its hosting service provider in five European countries. Ericsson will deploy Ericsson Operations Engine solution for Orange. The three-year deal involves Orange's operations in Spain, Belgium, Romania, Slovakia and Moldova, and supports approximately 40 million customers.
The previous hosting service transaction between Orange and Ericsson began in 2014 and has been for five years.
Ericsson stated that it will provide end-to-end operational hosting services, including network operations, on-site support and maintenance, and spare parts management services for Orange's fixed-network access, 2G, 3G, 4G and future 5G access.
Network performance, optimization, and network expansion are optional components and are delivered in some countries. Ericsson did not disclose further details.
Ericsson will further transform its operating model by deploying Ericsson Operations Engine and leveraging previous automation. The new AI-based Ericsson Operations Operations Engine management service model will transform operations into data-driven, predictable and proactive.
Orange-COO Jean-Marc Vignolles said that advanced automation tools will enable Orange to provide network operation efficiency and further improve Orange's customer experience in these five countries.
Peter Laurin, Ericsson's business area management service director, said: "AI-based Ericsson Operations Engine will enable Orange to focus more on providing customers with innovative solutions and high-quality services, while improving operational efficiency."
