Philippine fiber optic service provider Converge has announced plans to launch its submarine cable system for Visayas and Mindanao (Minanda), as well as expand and improve services in Luzon.

The five-year project is estimated to cost $2 billion. Converge is working with three international subcontractors including Korea Telecom, TE SubCom and LSI-Fibernet Konstrukt.
