Corning Launches Smaller And Easier-To-Install Fiber Optic Cables And Innovative Fiber Optic Products

Corning Incorporated at the Virtual Optical Network and Communications Seminar and Expo (OFC) demonstrated innovative products of optical fiber and optical cable, as well as solutions that support each link of the network connection. Through Corning’s virtual booth, users can learn about Corning’s various innovative products to accelerate network deployment, improve network performance, and reduce overall costs, including:

A new member of Corning's MiniXtend Optical Cable Product Line
This is a 192-core micro-cable using Binderless FastAccess technology with no tie yarn and no water barrier. It uses Corning's latest SMF-28 Contour fiber with an outer diameter of 190 microns. On the premise of maintaining the high density of the optical cable and ensuring the efficient construction speed, the compact MiniXtend XD optical cable provides the installer with greater flexibility in a narrower space. Compared with the previous MiniXtend HD optical cable, the number of optical fiber cores in each duct of MiniXtend XD has increased by 33%, and the installation speed can be increased by 70% compared with traditional optical cables.

Corning's latest innovation in RocketRibbon optical cable series
The world's first armored optical cable using Corning FastAccess technology, providing a more convenient installation experience and innovative optical fiber ribbon protection. This product provides 288 cores, 432 cores, 864 cores and other fiber optic cable products. The industry-standard ribbon design has been proven and has good backward compatibility. RocketRibbon armored fiber optic cable has the advantages of ribbon design, and can double the number of fibers in the pipeline. At the same time, its installation speed can be increased by 60% compared with the existing solution.
In addition to the above new products, Corning also introduced the latest SMF-28 ULL ultra-low-loss bend-resistant fiber for terrestrial long-distance communications, Corning's data center product series CleanAdvantage technology and MTP PRO connectors with Push-Pull tail sleeves , Evolv rugged solutions with Pushlok technology, and Everon network solutions.
"From access networks, cloud data centers to smart buildings, and the clear 5G trend, stable and high-speed connections have never been so important for the development of all these technologies." Dr. Bernhard Deutsch, Vice President and General Manager of Optical Fiber and Cable, Corning Introduced "Optical fiber, fiber optic cables and connectors are at the center of all these technologies. As network bandwidth requirements grow, Corning is at the forefront of innovation in every aspect of network connectivity."
