OPTICO Introduces 24F ELSFP Testing Cable

OPTICO has expanded its ELSFP testing cable range with a 24F configuration for external laser source validation in CPO and NPO systems. Joining the existing 12F version, the new addition gives engineering teams another fiber count option when developing dedicated optical test fixtures.

Supporting Individual Channel Evaluation

The assembly provides 24 polarization maintaining fiber paths between the ELSFP interface and the selected measurement connections. Defined channel mapping and identification help operators connect the intended fibers and associate test results with individual optical paths.

Each channel can be evaluated for insertion loss, return loss and polarization extinction ratio under agreed measurement conditions. Published optical specifications include:

  • Insertion loss: ≤ 0.35 dB
  • Return loss: ≥ 50 dB
  • Polarization extinction ratio: ≥ 22 dB

Configured Around the Test Fixture

OPTICO supports customization of the mating connector side, PM fiber model, opposite end termination, channel mapping, overall length and branch lengths. The interface drawing also defines the ferrule arrangement, viewing direction and polarization axis reference.

These details help match the assembly to the device under test, instrument connections and available routing space. Applications include CPO external laser path validation, NPO fixture integration and PM fiber connection verification.
