Santec has recently announced the launch of the OSX-100 polarization maintaining optical switch. The company stated that this optical switch is suitable for laboratory and research needs, as well as for automated equipment testing and high-volume production testing.
The OSX-100 operates within a wavelength range of 1250nm to 1670nm and utilizes Panda polarization maintaining fiber. It offers a repeatability of ±0.005dB, a polarization extinction ratio (PER) greater than 23dB, and an insertion loss of less than 1.0dB. The standard configuration includes SC or FC connectors, with up to 24 channels available. The company also offers customization options for higher channel counts, specific fiber types, and wavelength ranges upon request.
Santec emphasizes that the OSX-100 can be easily integrated into any testing setup through USB or Ethernet connectivity, using SCPI commands. An optional front-panel touchscreen is also available for local control.
With the introduction of the OSX-100 ultra-low loss polarization maintaining optical switch, Santec aims to meet the diverse needs of laboratories, research facilities, and production environments, providing reliable and efficient optical switching capabilities.
