OM5 SC Fiber Patch Cord is a high-quality optical fiber cable designed for use in high-speed networks that require reliable, high-bandwidth transmission. It is made with multi-mode fiber and has a standard SC connector on each end, making it easy to install and use in a variety of applications.
OPTICO's OM5 fiber patch cord is optimized for multi-wavelengths transmission systems that operate at least four low-cost wavelengths in the range of 850~950 nm. It supports the application of Shortwave Wavelength Division Multiplexing (SWDM), which can reduce parallel fiber count from 8 to 2, and improve fiber transmission efficiency. It can transmit up to 400m on the rate of 40 Gb/s or up to 150m on the rate of 100 Gb/s since it reduced fiber counts for higher speeds.

Four Wavelength Support: Compared to traditional OM1, OM2, OM3, and OM4 multimode fibers that have only one channel, the OM5 patchcord contains four channels and can support four wavelengths on a single multi-mode fiber, which increases the transmission capacity by four times while reducing the number of fibre cores required to 1/4.
Low Signal Attenuation: The OM5 multimode fiber designed with a high-purity core and cladding, minimizing impurities that can cause signal loss. The precise control of the fiber's refractive index and numerical aperture also contributes to low signal attenuation, ensuring that the transmitted signal experiences minimal loss as it travels through the fiber.
Distinct Colour for Rapid Identification: The OM5 SC Fiber Patch Cord features lime green patch cable, and serves as a visual identifier for network technicians and installers. By using a distinct color, it helps ensure that OM5 fiber is correctly identified and used in high-speed, multi-mode applications.
