In a 48 96Core Anti-Rodent Direct Buried Fiber Cable, single-mode fibers are located in a loose tube that is filled with a water-blocking compound filler. The tube and filler are twisted around central metal strength members to form a round core. The anti-rodent cable has a double armored construction with one layer of steel tape/ corrugated steel tape and another layer of galvanized steel wire, and the inner and outer sheaths are both made of HDPE.
