DWDM uses thin-film coating technology and the design of a proprietary non-flux metal welding micro-optical packaging to achieve the uplink and downlink of light within the ITU wavelength. It provides the ITU channel center wavelength, low insertion loss, high channel isolation, wide passband, low temperature sensitivity, and glue-free circuits. In telecommunication network systems, it can be used for uplink or downlink of optical signals.
DWDM is to multiplex optical signals of different wavelengths onto one optical fiber (multiplexing), or to separate multiple optical channels multiplexed in one optical fiber by wavelength (demultiplexing). The 100G channel-spaced dense optical wavelength division multiplexer / demultiplexer uses mature multi-cavity dielectric films to realize optical filtering, good wavelength stability, and sealed packaging, and high environmental stability.

The passbands of the DWDM channel and the CWDM channel overlap, and the C-band 1531nm and 1551nm are located in the natural area, with low insertion loss, extending the transmission distance of DWDM.

Boosted by Erbium-doped-fiber amplifiers (EDFAs), the DWDM systems can support point-to-point ultra-long haul applications without the need to add costly regenerators.
By real-time monitoring the power status in working fiber through OLP, the traffic will be automatically diverted to the protection line if the working line fails, which greatly reduces the huge loss of data information.
