Its AR-coated, recessed fiber end-face maintains a controlled air gap, helping reduce back reflection, prevent end-face wear, and improve measurement repeatability during repeated mating.

 

  • Designed for testing 400G, 800G, and 1.6T optical modules and MPO/MTP® assemblies, it helps build a more stable test link and minimize performance fluctuations caused by contamination or mechanical contact. MNC-MNC and MNC-MPO configurations are available for different test setups.

 

 
Key Technology Explanation
 

 

At the silica-to-air interfaces created by the non-contact geometry, the AR coating helps reduce Fresnel reflection and limit multiple-reflection effects that may contribute to Fabry-Perot interference. This helps control insertion-loss and return-loss behavior at the specified operating wavelength.

Each fiber end-face is recessed below the ferrule surface by approximately 0.6-6 μm. After mating, an air gap of approximately 1.2 μm remains between the opposing fiber end-faces. Because the fiber surfaces remain separated, the interface avoids direct end-face friction and reduces sensitivity to contamination and uneven contact across the 24-fiber array.
