The 12F MT Ferrule Kit is available for singlemode and multimode applications, with standard-loss and low-loss options. It also supports 12F MT PC and MT APC configurations for different connector assembly requirements.
For high-performance optical links, the low-loss version can be selected to achieve lower insertion loss. Final performance should be evaluated together with the MPO housing, fiber, adhesive, polishing process and complete cable assembly.
What cable and fiber structures are supported?
The 12F MT Ferrule Kit supports three main assembly structures:

What optical performance can the 12F MT ferrule kit provide?
Optical performance varies according to the fiber type and loss grade. For both singlemode and multimode configurations, the typical insertion loss is 0.15 dB for low-loss versions and 0.25 dB for standard-loss versions.
The maximum insertion loss is ≤0.35 dB for low-loss configurations, ≤0.70 dB for singlemode standard-loss configurations, and ≤0.50 dB for multimode standard-loss configurations. Optical return loss is specified at a mean value of ≥50 dB for singlemode configurations and ≥25 dB for multimode configurations.
How is the reliability of the 12F MT Ferrule Kit verified?
When assembled with matching MPO connector components, the 12F MT Ferrule Kit is evaluated in accordance with TELCORDIA/GR-1435-CORE requirements. Reliability testing includes thermal aging, humidity aging, thermal cycling, humidity and condensation cycling, dry-out testing and mechanical tensile testing.
The specified mechanical criteria include a tensile proof test of ≥44 N at 0° and ≥33 N at 90°. These evaluations help verify alignment stability, mechanical strength and optical performance under environmental and mechanical stress.
