The CEx-WDM module is designed for situations where GPON, XGS-PON, OTDR, RF video, and NG-PON2 coexist during OLT-to-ONU transmission. OPTICO can offer a full range of technically optimized product solutions for the PON family, supporting multiple combinations of N-CEx to save space.

 

To enable the integration of G/EPON with NG-PON 1 and NG-PON 2 systems, the utilization of the CEx wavelength coexistence original, also named as Co-existing Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CEx WDM), is necessary. NG-PON 2 represents an advancement from the current GPON/XG-PON setup. As TDM-PON evolves towards a 10 Gbit/s rate using a single wavelength, further enhancement of the single wavelength rate encounters challenges in both technology and cost. Therefore, incorporating WDM technology into the PON system becomes an unavoidable choice. The CEx WDM module emerges as a product of PON technology evolution. Currently, NG-PON 2, serving as the technical solution for the next PON generation, must enhance performance, meet emerging application requirements, and ensure compatibility with existing PON setups. This direction signifies the progression of PON technology, garnering significant attention and widespread support from international leading operators. Additionally, the CEx WDM module holds promising applications across various domains.
